Congratulations to our 2021 Substance Use Disorder Treatment graduates!
SOME offers comprehensive treatment options that empower adults to break the bonds of addiction, reunite with their families, and rejoin their communities. Services are person-centered: each person will be evaluated during their initial appointment, or intake, to determine the most effective treatment plan.
This fall, SOME graduated 32 people from their Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Treatment Program.
President and CEO of SOME, Ralph Boyd, had a lot to say about the perseverance and level of commitment it took to complete the SUD program during COVID-19.
“I want to express the heartiest congratulations to our graduates. Your success during times of hardship has inspired us, and this journey is a beginning, not an end. This is an enormous accomplishment and I’m happy we can all celebrate you together. This is far from the end of your journey. Our SOME family has grown a lot stronger because you have joined the ranks of our alumni.”
2021 SUD graduate, Angelo Bynum, was also given a chance to express his gratitude at the graduation. “It’s been an honor to be amongst so many determined individuals. If I was asked a year ago to talk about my life, I would say two words, extremely unmanageable.”
He explained, “I lost all ability to live life on my terms. I couldn’t understand how a man like myself became helpless and living on the street. Reluctantly, I finally enrolled at SOME. For the first time in my life, I was given an opportunity to change for the better. Not only did they teach me positive social skills, but they also gave me the resources I needed to become a part of society again. I got a second chance to do things right. I’m truly grateful for this opportunity. With the help of SOME, I can not only make an impact on my life but the lives of so many more.”
