Founded in 1970, SOME is an interfaith organization that seeks to help those experiencing poverty and homelessness in our nation’s capital. We meet the immediate daily needs of the people we serve through the generosity of our many partners through in-kind and direct support. Each year, SOME serves over 30,000 clients through its comprehensive continuum of Emergency, Stability and Rebuilding Programs.
SOME’s diverse mix of reliable funding streams solidifies our organizational sustainability and capacity and ability to serve as a natural partner to nonprofits, governmental agencies and businesses both locally and nationally. We are deeply grateful to the businesses that currently invest their companies’ time, talent and resources in SOME and we are eager to connect with those seeking to invest in our mission.
Focused on Impact
In April 2020, Ralph Boyd became SOME’s second President and CEO. Under Ralph’s dynamic leadership, SOME is pursuing an exciting stage of purposeful growth to increase its housing portfolio, ensure integrated whole person care across all of its services, and assess the impact of our programs on our clients, their communities and the structures and systems that affect their lives on a daily basis.
