SOME serves thousands of people each year and we rely on a diverse mix of earned income, governmental support, and financial contributions from individuals and organizations to operate our transformational services 365 days a year. SOME is proud of its transparency, low overhead costs, and commitment to stewardship. More than 90% of all donations received go directly to people in need. Individual contributions account for more than half of our revenue, and our supporters know that their gifts will directly help people experiencing homelessness and poverty in Washington, DC. SOME has been named a Four-Star Charity by Charity Navigator for the past 14 consecutive years.

Responsible Stewardship

In 2021 and 2022, SOME was awarded the GuideStar Platinum Seal of Transparency, the highest rating nonprofits can receive for accountability. Prior to the launch of the Platinum seal in 2021, SOME held the Gold Seal, then the highest GuideStar rating) for 16 years.
