4-Star Charity Navigator Rating
Charity Navigator is a tool used to empower millions of donors by providing them with free access to data, tools, and resources to guide philanthropic decision-making. Through the ratings, nonprofits are equipped with the nonprofit sector’s premier trust indicator and a powerful platform to raise awareness and funds.
For 2021, SOME is once again being recognized as a four-star rated Charity Navigator nonprofit! Our Charity Navigator financial rating is 94.51/100 and our accountability + transparency rating is 100/100.
GuideStar Platinum Seal of Transparency
Candid is an information service specializing in reporting on U.S. nonprofit companies. It is the product of the February 2019 merger of GuideStar with Foundation Center. In 2016, its database provided information on 2.5 million organizations.
This year SOME was also awarded with a GuideStar Platinum Seal of Transparency. This highlights the transparency and the flow of information between our non-profit and donors.
In 2021, 78,262 organizations received a Seal. This represents about 5 percent of the more than 1.7 million nonprofits registered with the IRS. Nearly half of Seal holders were awarded a Bronze Seal. 19 percent of Seal holders received Silver, 20 percent earned Gold, and just 15 percent earned Platinum.
