Donate Goods
Donate Goods
We rely on donated items of many kinds to serve our clients, with a focus on four categories – food, clothing, hygiene items (hygiene kits here), and household items. All material donations to SOME are tax-deductible. SOME does not sell any of the donated items we receive—donated items are distributed free of charge to individuals in need. For items we do not accept, please see our list at the bottom of this page.
Drop-Off Location and Hours
Donated items may be dropped off at 71 O Street, NW, Washington, DC 20001 between the hours of 7:30am-3:00pm Monday through Friday, including the holidays. We will offer you a donation receipt for your tax records when you drop off your items.
After building hours of operation, please refrain from leaving donations outside of the building. We ask you to hold on to your items and deliver them when we are open. Thank you.
*Saturday drop off is between the hours of 8am-4pm at 61 O St, and on Sunday the hours are from 7:30am to 3pm and the drop off location is 71 O Street, NW, Washington, DC 20001.
Thank you

Food Drives:
Organizing a food drive can be simple and fun as an effective way to help SOME combat hunger in our community. Consider organizing a food drive in your neighborhood or school, place of worship, or workplace.
Every item collected does make a difference!
If you are having a large food drive that may require pick-up service, please coordinate with our In-Kind Services Manager, Ray Burley at nonmonetarydonations@some.org.
