SOME is thrilled to continue offering our summer tutoring program for kids in family housing, now available at multiple SOME sites. The Racial Equity and Academic Learning (R.E.A.L.) Program provides consistent, high-impact academic support to qualified students free of charge. The program begins with an academic assessment to identify learning gaps and prescribes a customized learning plan to help students meet their educational goals. Students work in small groups with certified teachers to receive the support they need to succeed.
The R.E.A.L. Program was developed to address the need for equitable academic support for low-income families, particularly in response to the learning loss caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. At SOME, we understand the importance of creating safe and supportive learning environments for all students. This program ensures that students in our community receive 30 hours of instruction, valued at approximately $2,000 per student, completely free of charge. We are excited to offer this incredible opportunity to families within our buildings.
We are currently accepting students in grades 4-8 for reading and math tutoring. The R.E.A.L. Program offers a unique opportunity for students to receive personalized attention and support from our dedicated teachers. This high-impact tutoring helps bridge the gaps in their education and allows them to achieve their academic goals. For more information, please contact your building managers.
