Trot for Hunger

The only turkey trot in the District, the Trot for Hunger is a local tradition and a way to help people in need on Thanksgiving Day. The 5K Run/Walk is held at 9:00am on Freedom Plaza.


Dinner Gala

The Annual Dinner Gala and Silent Auction is held every year around the holidays. The event helps provide affordable housing for our city’s neediest families and single adults.


Junior Gala

The SOME Junior Gala is an evening of cocktails and dancing for young professionals held every February. The event supports SOME’s affordable housing for the homeless and very low-income.


Empty Bowls

Each March, SOME hosts two Empty Bowls soup suppers to raise awareness about the growing issue of hunger in Washington, DC and to provide meals for the District’s hungry and homeless. Click here for details on St. Ann’s Soup Supper benefiting SOME.
