At SOME’s Center for Employment Training (CET), success is not defined by where someone begins, but by the determination they bring to where they are going. For Flemming, that journey has been one of growth, resilience, and a clear commitment to building a better future.
When Flemming first entered the CET program, he wasn’t entirely sure what to expect. Unfamiliar with the program and its opportunities, he approached it with an open mind. What followed was a transformative experience that would shape both his personal and professional path.
From the start, Flemming embraced hands on learning, developing technical skills in the building trades while strengthening the foundation he already had. Along the way, he earned key industry credentials, including OSHA 30 and CFC certification.
One of the most significant milestones in his journey came on September 25, 2025, when he earned his GED. With support from CET staff, including math instruction from Ms. Jeong, he achieved a goal that once felt out of reach and opened new doors for his future.
Throughout the program, Flemming became known for his positive attitude and willingness to support others. He describes CET as feeling like family, where trainees encourage one another and work through challenges together. His determination has not only shaped his own path, but inspired those around him.

Flemming is on track to graduate on October 9, 2026, and is already taking steps toward his future. He has applied to the Local 26 Electrical Union Inside Wireman apprenticeship program while continuing to explore opportunities in building maintenance.
For Flemming, success is a process. As he shares, “Nothing comes overnight. Just because your success story pauses does not mean it is over. It is just a short intermission.”
With the skills, credentials, and support gained through CET, Flemming is continuing to move forward with purpose, building a pathway toward long term stability and success.
