Advocacy Testimony: “No Senior Hungry Bill”

SOME_Logo_Black_TransparentOn February 14, 2022, Joan Williams, SOME’s Senior Director of Senior Services, in collaboration with Betty Gentle, SOME’s Senior Advocacy & Community Engagement Specialist, testified before the Committee on Housing and Executive Administration in support of Bill B24-0419, No Senior Hungry Omnibus Amendment Act of 2021, commonly referred to as the “No Senior Hungry Bill.”

Washington, DC currently has the highest food insecurity rate for seniors, and SOME believes this bill will help coordinate and leverage the many services and food sources that D.C. already has in place for seniors.
