SOME's Dining Room Is Back!

The SOME dining room is usually fully operational to clients, but had to shut down due to COVID-19. After being open for pick up services for the past year and a half to minimize person to person contact, the dining room is partially open for people to eat in person! This was only made possible because of the work from the emergency services and dining room team, to make the dining room as safe as possible for people to come in and eat breakfast. For the time being, lunch will continue to be offered as a pick up option from 71 O. Street. Right now, we are not accomodating the usual hundreds of people that we usually have in the dining room. But things will continue to move closer and closer to the pre-pandemic functionality in the dining room.

The updated dining room hours are 7:30 to 9:30 am

Head of Volunteer Services, Rebecca Flaherty, explained the precautions being taken by the SOME team, "Guests, staff and volunteers all continue to abide by social distancing protocols by wearing masks and having temperature checks. As guests enter the dining room their temperatures are taken, and they are given a new mask. We have set up the dining room so that every guest has their own space, so when they are eating, they have privacy and space."

We are so happy to be able to once again eat with our friends and neighbors on O. Street.

This is only possible with support from our volunteers.
