225 Guests Gather for SOME’s Addiction Treatment Program Alumni Picnic

September 8, 2016

Alumni of SOME’s Addiction Treatment Program joined friends, family and current residents of the program on August 27 for SOME’s Alumni Picnic. This annual celebration in West Virginia is a day of community that celebrates and encourages recovery. Fr. John Adams, President of SOME, was one of 225 guests who enjoyed a cook-out, talent show, volleyball and yard games.

SOME’s Alumni Program is part of our Continuing Care that is designed to support those who have gone through SOME’s Addiction Treatment Program throughout their recovery.

For the past 24 years, alumni of SOME’s Addiction Treatment program have looked forward to returning to “Miracle Mountain,” named for the many lives that have been changed there. At this special reunion picnic, alumni had the opportunity to see the counselors and staff that played an important role in their road to recovery. They also had the chance to connect with other alumni who have taken the same journey.

Some in attendance were celebrating their first year of sobriety and others over twenty years! As more men and women graduate from our treatment program, the alumni group grows.

We look forward to seeing everyone again next year!
