SOME’s annual Thanksgiving Day Trot for Hunger is a time-honored tradition, bringing together over 8,000 participants from the DC area for the District’s only turkey trot. This year, to keep our mission moving during our return to normalcy, Trot for Hunger will be in-person AND virtual! We are encouraging our Trot for Hunger participants to join us at Freedom Plaza on Thanksgiving Day or run/walk in their neighborhood or local park during the month of November.
SOME’s Annual Dinner Gala and Silent Auction, held in November, celebrates our work, raises support for affordable housing, and honors our McKenna Humanitarian of the Year.
The SOME Young Professionals Board is a group of engaged and philanthropic individuals committed to supporting SOME and its services through special events and fundraising.
Every March, SOME dedicates the entire month to Hunger Awareness through our #FillSOMEBowls campaign! Next year, join us on March 1st to kick off our month-long campaign to combat hunger in our Nation’s Capital and support SOME’s programs and services.
Check out some of the recent and upcoming ways that local individuals and companies are supporting SOME and its programs for the homeless and poor in our community. This listing is not exhaustive, and SOME does not endorse or guarantee the events or products offered here.
