SOME's affordable housing programs for single adults offer a balance of independence and structure for residents like James.

Program Highlights

Anna Cooper House, Freedom Place, Jeremiah House and Shalom House provided safe, diginified housing to almost 300 formerly homeless and extremely low-income single men and women in 2008. Ninety percent of residents maintained their health, sobriety and income.

SOME has been providing supportive-service affordable housing programs for homeless and extremely low-income single adults since 1989; and today, provides safe, substance-free affordable housing for nearly 250 single adults.

Adults living at Anna Cooper House, Freedom House, Jeremiah House and Shalom House pay 30% of their income as rent, participate in regular house meetings and maintain their health and sobriety.

SOME also provides affordable housing in the Oxford House model at Joseph Smith House and Fr. Horace McKenna House. In addition, SOME offers safe, dignified housing to four men at Providence House.
