What’s the application process?
Once eligible, a face-to-face intake appointment is scheduled, if available. All documents listed under Single Adult Housing Requirements need to be brought to the face-to-face intake interview. If no appointments are available, a staff person will call you back as appointments become available.

Can I move in right away?
We keep a waitlist based on completion of the application process. As availabilities arise, prospective residents are pulled from the waitlist.

Is there street parking in front of properties?
Yes. Parking signs apply.

Are utilities included in the rent?

How is rent calculated?
Rent is 30% of gross income.

If I have not applied to be on DCHA housing waiting list, can I still apply for SRO Housing?

Are units cable and internet ready?
Yes. Some come with free basic internet and cable.

Is there access to public transportation?
Yes, most housing programs are very close to public transportation. Others are within walking distance.

If I have a physical disability and require special accommodation, does SRO Housing have accessible units?
Yes, be sure to identify this need on your application.

If I’m not a DC resident, can I still apply for SRO Housing?
Yes, under some conditions.

What is clean and sober housing?
Clean and sober housing is housing where alcohol and drug use are not permitted.
