SOME's operates many programs that meet the immediate needs of Washington's poor and homeless. These programs ensure that poor and homeless individuals survive to see another day, be it through a meal to stave off hunger, a coat to protect against the bite of winter, or medicine to prevent a small medical problem from becoming a life-threatening condition. In addition to the practical nature of these services, they serve a second purpose, which involves treating each person who comes to us with dignity and respect. By addressing the person as well as the condition a person suffers from, we succeed at bridging a trust with those we serve.

In addition to our food programs and clothing and shower rooms, SOME offers legal services to our clients once a week by volunteer attorneys through a partnership with the Washington Legal Clinic for the Homeless at our 60 'O' Street, NW location.
