Provide-A-Meal Volunteers

Provide-A-Meal (PAM) volunteers make it possible for SOME to serve 300 to 400 children, women, and men breakfast and lunch each day.

There are several different ways to provide a meal as a PAM group:

  • Bring in pre-made casseroles (40 to 60 casseroles in 9x12 aluminum pans will provide lunch for 300-400 people)
  • Bring ingrdients and cook a full meal in SOME's kitchen
  • Purchase food through one of SOME's wholesalers, which SOME staff and volunteers can prepare

PAM volunteers are not required to stay and serve the meal they provide, but are more than welcome to do so.

We are happy to help with menu suggestions, food quantities, and wholesale food distributors. There is also the option of groups sharing a day or providing part of a meal.

Currently, SOME is looking for Provide-A-Meal volunteers to help with

  • Fifth Thursday breakfast (12 months)

  • First Monday lunch (12 months)
  • First Wednesday lunch (6 months)
  • Third Friday lunch (6 months)
  • Fourth Tuesday lunch (6 months)
  • Fourth Wednesday lunch (12 months)

If your group would like to help, or if you have any questions, please contact Don Dixon, SOME Dining Room and Volunteer Coordinator at 202.797.0701 extension 113 or ddixon@some.org.
