Hoops for the Homeless

Join SOME on Saturday, September 13 for Freddie Mac's 2008 Hoops for the Homeless Basketball Tournament at the Verizon Center. SOME has a limited number of complimentary Hoops tickets available for our volunteers and donors. To request tickets or learn more about this great event, please e-mail hoops@some.org.

If you plan to attend, please bring a canned good for the Food for Families donation drive. And check out the online auction for signed Arenas jerseys, Magic basketballs and more on the Hoops for the Homeless website.

Whole Foods Market in Georgetown Hosts 5% Day for SOME

Shop at Whole Foods Market - Georgetown on Wednesday, September 10 between 8 am and 10 pm, and 5% of your sale will be donated to SOME!

Your purchase will benefit SOME's Family Services, which provide safe, affordable housing and supportive services to poor and homeless families in the District.

Families are encouraged to stop by between 3 pm and 6 pm to enjoy children's activities, cookie decorating, snack sampling and giveaways.

7th Annual Thanksgiving Day Trot for Hunger

Held at 8:30 am on Thanksgiving morning in West Potomac Park in Washington, DC, the Trot for Hunger is a 5K fun run and family walk that benefits SOME's programs for the hungry and homeless. This year, we are pleased to offer official ChronoTrack timing to all participants. We hope that you can join us!

2008 Fannie Mae Help the Homeless Walkathon

The Fannie Mae Help the Homeless Walkathon will be held on Saturday, November 22 on the National Mall in Washington, DC. Please support SOME by participating in the Walkathon, hosting a Mini Walk or sponsoring SOME through your company or faith community. Empty Bowls

Thank you to all who made SOME's annual Empty Bowls soup supper such a success. With the support of the Clay Connection, St. Charles Borromeo Church, Shrine of the Most Blessed Sacrament and our generous vendors, volunteers and participants we raised more than $11,000 for SOME's meal programs for the poor and homeless.
