Empty Bowls

Potter Showcase
Glen Echo Pottery

SOME is pleased to once again have the generous support of Glen Echo Pottery for this year’s Empty Bowls! Glen Echo Pottery has been a loyal partner in this endeavor, donating unique and gorgeous bowls each year. This year the group has come together to donate over 100 bowls for Empty Bowls.

Kay Allan, who helps coordinate the bowl donations from the group, says, “I’ve been potting and loving it at Glen Echo Pottery for 9 years. My involvement with Empty Bowls evolved from my involvement with donating food for SOME for a long time. It was natural that I would choose your group for OUR group to support. Everyone was very happy to be able to give a piece or more of the bowls we love to create for such a great cause.”

Thank you Kay and Glen Echo Pottery!

Thank you to everyone who helped the hungry and homeless at SOME's 2010 Empty Bowls.

Benefiting SOME's meal programs, Empty Bowls is an annual event where guests enjoy a simple soup supper and may select and take home gorgeous hand-crafted bowls.

Empty Bowls is generously supported by local potters and restaurants who are listed below. Among the talented potters who contributed bowls were students, alumni and professors from the Corcoran - a story about their "Bowl-A-Thon" was reported by CNN.

If you would like additional information or are interested in donating bowls or food to next year's event, please contact Megan Gannon at 202.797.8806, ext. 1010 or at mgannon@some.org.
