Community Events for SOME

Walk of the Town logoEnjoy a Guided Tour of DC to Benefit SOME

Sunday, August 4, Walk of the Town is offering an expert guided tour entitled "Monumental sTOURies" to benefit SOME. Led by licensed DC tour guide Tim Stewart, the tour will feature stops at the Lincoln Memorial, the Washington Monument, the WWII Memorial, the Korean War Memorial, the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, Constitution Gardens, Signer's Island and more!

Reservations are not required and the tour itself is free, but donations are welcomed and 100% will be contributed to SOME.

The tour begins on 15th Street, NW, just steps from the northwest corner of the Commerce Department and the intersection of 15th Street (300 Block) and Pennsylvania Avenue.

"DC Street" Chronicles Homelessness in Washington

After volunteering in the SOME Dining Room, Azim Al-Sala'm, founder of Consider Someone Else, decided to donate a portion of the proceeds from the sale of his new single "DC Street" to help the hungry and homeless at SOME. The song describes the hunger and poverty that Mr. Al-Sala'm, a native Washingtonian, has seen in the city.
